Arts
Augusta Prep views an arts program as essential, not peripheral, to the
curriculum. Lower School students attend visual arts and music classes
beginning in preschool and these offerings continue through the Middle
School years. Upper School students have an array of elective
offerings, including visual, dramatic, and choral arts. We believe that
artistic expression facilitates discovery and allows children to
communicate their individual thoughts. Through storytelling at a young
age and performing arts at an older age, students learn creative
dramatics; through set creation and photo design, students learn the
art of problem solving; through any artistic expression, students learn
empathy, balance, patience, and creative approaches to situations. The
arts program is an essential part of our academic curriculum, and we
encourage you to visit our online art gallery to view the work of our
talented students!
