Mission & Values
The mission of Augusta Preparatory Day School is to provide the Augusta
area with the highest quality college preparatory education for average
and above average students, in an independent, coeducational,
non-sectarian school.
We believe
•
That students are the focal point of the School and the whole child
should be provided the opportunity to individually achieve success,
develop leadership potential, and be made aware of community
responsibility.
• That our students should be instilled with the
values of interdependency and respect and responsibility for self and
others. Instilling these values and those of self-reliance is the joint
responsibility of parents and school.
• That our students should promote community well being and development through our active, responsible involvement.
•
That our employees are vital to our success, that we provide an
environment in which they can achieve their fullest potential, and that
we must make reward commensurate with performance.
• That a quality education involves a partnership between home and school.
• That we must be responsible to the changing demands of our market in order to achieve our mission.
• That our graduates will achieve success at the college of their choice.
Augusta
Prep believes in the importance of character. Beginning in the Lower
School, students are taught character development, respect of self and
others, and personal responsibility. In the Middle School years,
students are held to the rules and standard of an honor code. The Upper School not only enforces the honor code, but also has an Honor Education Council who meet to deliberate honor code violations.
